Notes: This is not the vid that I has intended to make. I had been thinking about the song for awhile but never had a concrete plan for clips until I sat down to plan another vid and this one came together inside. I also played around with clip effects far more than I have before. Which I think turned out well and fairly close to what was going through my head, which is always nice.

ETA: Urgh, Imeem now has far more intrusive ads then I remember. Sorry, will have to find better streaming option... (But apparently not in the embedded video.)

This is gorgeous work. I LOVED the editing and your colour work, how you chose to really highlight key moments of warm yellows and fire and it just worked so beautifully, both visually and emotionally.

It's such a great idea to take Mary's Lovely Bones-esque POV in respect of the family circle of self-sacrifice, and I especially loved the way the pacing built up toward the second half and all your wonderful attention to detail. My favourite moments were the section around 1:08 with the paralleled blocking and facial expressions, and the ending with the gorgeous composition and motion of overlays of the Lawrence sign and the pentagram. This is such fantastic work. Thank you so much for sharing!

You know, personally, I think that you yourself are a fantastic vidder so it's awesome to hear you complement my own work.

The very end sequence was a favourite of mine as well so thank you very much for your comment :) I'm glad the vid worked so well for you.

I have no idea what's going on in this, as I don't even watch SPN, but I came via [info]obsessive24's rec and I must agree that this was powerful. My knowledge of SPN is basic, but I think I gleaned enough to understand what you were going for, and I felt for her. Very crisp editing. And also great song choice. It felt right for her and the show, you know?

I LOVE IT! Mary is such an amazing character, and you portrayed all the defiance and the guilt and the love perfectly. This sort of vid just encompasses everything I love about the series. Magnificent work!

This is really excellent. Nice to finally see some clips of Mary used in a way that is interesting, not to mention making the vid about her. I imagine it was tough to have pretty limited footage to work with, but you made it slick and sharp.

In a way limited footage is tough, but it also forces you to think more about the clips you have and the different ways you can use them.

Oh, that was lovely. Hard hitting, wonderful color/editing choices, and the music was perfect. I saw this rec'd today at [info]crack_impala and had to come see.

I just posted the other day about how much I wanted to see a Mary vid set in between In The Beginning and the pilot (uhh, which would be footage that doesn't even exist), so I'm so glad to find this! I love how clearly you show show Mary's fears and the reality. This is a really lovely piece of work.

Yeah, it's the footage that doesn't exist that screws things up. I really want to do an AU vid where Mary lives and goes hunting with John. I even have the song picked out but I have an unfortunate lack of footage :(

This is so wonderful hun. Adored your editing and the story here. A fabulous look at Mary and the results of her deal. Great song choice.

(The imeem ads are easy enough to click off once it pops up - though imeem are being as tough as YT with taking vids down. BAM Vid Vault and Vimeo have been recommended to me as alternative streaming sites (though you need to password protect the ones at Vimeo).

Thanks for sharing this. You're a talented vidder, that's for sure. :D

(The imeem ad that I sure didn't have an option to click though. It was a pull page one that had no other option but to wait. Of course, saying that, I haven't seen it since but it was different to any other ad I've seen :( But thanks for those other streaming video places.)

Oh, Mary. This is lovely and heartbreaking, the way you show the cycles of Winchesters and Mary's sacrifice despite her desire to get away from the hunting life. Beautiful.

Wonderful, thinky vid. It's fantastic to get Mary's point of view, and the editing and song choice were wonderful. I love the last shot you chose, and how well you worked in clips of both versions of Mary.

Wow, that was really beautiful. I love your style of editing, very fast but fluid, never resting too long in one moment but letting them all flow into and speak to one another. This is the first treatment I've seen of all the Mary material available to us, and it did a fantastic job of pulling her together as girl, wife, and mother and pulling out her agony as she watches her children and husband suffer without her. Nothing more tragic than Winchesters :( I've definitely downloaded this and will be revisiting it. Fantastic work!

This was amazing! I love the pacing and the way you wove the seasons together. There's so little Mary footage to work with but you used it all brilliantly :)
